For an athlete or someone who’s working out regularly and has a good amount of muscle mass on – then this tool will be misleading for them. The average person who lives a sedentary lifestyle can use BMI to calculate potential risk categories. BMI matters because it can help you determine your risk of developing certain conditions linked with excess weight such as Diabetes, Liver disease, Color Cancer, Breast Cancer, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol etc. You can read more about this here.
If you’re an athlete or someone who workouts several days a week, regularly – then we recommend using a skin caliper instead.
